| We eat lunch at a little BBQ restaurant
in Buffalo Gap. We order the BBQ plates. This included beans, potato salad
or slaw and of course meat. Here is the difference between here and there.
The beef is cut in long thin slices like steak and that is what it tastes
like, very tender and delicious. The beans are not baked they are pinto
beans. The bread is white bread on the side and when you order ice tea you
walk to a cooler and dip out your ice and serve yourself.
Paul dares me to eat one of the peppers (they put a bowl of assorted peppers on the table for us to eat). I know which one isn't hot and I gulp it down with a smile on my face. |
| We stop to take a look at a real buffalo and a Long Horn cow. I thought they were steers but this one had udders so it had to be a cow. |

| When we get closer to the
Buffalo, the long horn cow comes over and stands near the Buffalo. I think
she is protecting it. The sign on the fence reads, "We will not be
responsible for your stupidity".
We go to a little indoor flea market. Paul buys some soda paraphernalia, glad he's not into drugs just soda. I buy a paperback called "First Wives Club". On the way back to the RV we stop and get milk shakes. My thrill for the day is the Armadillo… Paul's is the shadows of us is caught on the camera. |
| After a short rest, Paul heads back to the downtown section of Abilene for some bicycle exploring. After about 7 miles and many pictures, he returns to the RV around dark. |
