Falcon State Park was a scenic and interesting place.  We bicycled trails, across the Mexican border and into NVA CD Gurrero, Mexico.  Shortly after noon we left and headed toward Brownsville.
wpe4E.jpg (4265 bytes) Monday morning in the park.  A four mile trail run was blessed with a splendid sunrise.  We started a bicycle ride with trails in the park and then to Falcon Dam on our way across the border into Mexico.  When we ended the day, we had bicycled 33+ miles.

This monument on Falcon Dam marked the U S/Mexico border.  Carl and I have one foot in each country.

Bridge jointly owned by U S & Mexico.  Built across the Rio Grande River.  Backs up Falcon Lake.  Lake covers 87,210 acres and is 40 miles long.  Dedicated jointly, October 19, 1953.  A U S-Mexican monument located on dam at center point of main channel.  Bicycling into Mexico was interesting, but Texas sure looked good coming back. wpe55.jpg (1838 bytes) wpe54.jpg (2280 bytes)
